The time and energy it takes to start a puppy off right can be overwhelming. House breaking, socialization, bird and gun introduction are all part of it. Sometimes it is just so hard to find the tools you need to get to the end goal in mind. Others just want to enjoy the benefits of having an older pup that is ready to work. You never know what you are going to get with a new puppy. Will it have a bold and out of control demeanor or a more shy and timid personality? Why not skip the guessing game and choose a hunting partner that fits your lifestyle.
Let us help match you to the right dog that fits your lifestyle and goals.
There is a ton of cocker in this little dog's body! He darts, and bounces, and carries things like his life depends on it. Bam is learning to harness his cocker power in the field. He is confident, eager to please, and a pleasure to work and teach. He's got so much potential and drive, Bam is a force to be reckoned with.
Ricky joined our pack in May 2022 as a started dog. We saw great potential in his bird drive, working ability, and his biddable personality. He is a small framed dog packed with lots of energy and flash! We are excited to have him on our working team. Ricky is AMS, PRA (prcd), ARHN, and EIC clear. He is available to stud.
Radar is the pack clown. He provides all the comic relief. He is a friend to all dogs big or small. This English pointer is a big ole baby when it comes to corrections, even when he was a tiny puppy, and has always had the nickname "Titty". He is a stud muffin in the bird field. He takes an edge and runs it. His points are always beautiful with a head and tail held high. Part of the pack, Radar is owned by Bob and is a Double R Pointer.
Rosco is a character of his own. He is the rock in the Double R Pointers team, and has had years of guiding hunts in multiple states. Even at 9 years old he still likes to act like a puppy during play. When he is not working, his special hobbies include screaming at sea gulls as he chases them down the shore, finding small lizards in rocks around gardens, and staring at his reflection in puddles and ponds.
The newest Double R Pointer, Pebbles has a big attitude for her small frame. She isn't afraid to play hard with the big boys and give them a piece of her mind. She loves the water, new things, and to retrieve...I am excited to watch as she develops into a more mature bird dog.
Casey is a rising star Double R Pointer and is owned by Bob. She continues to impress us with her bird finding ability and seems to be the sensitive nose in the pack. She loves to play rough and put the boys in their place. She is a little shy around strangers but will hunt with anyone in the field. Casey is a retrieving machine for being an English pointer. As she matures, I expect her to outshine the boys in the field.
Tucker the buddy is a special character in the group. A blend of a wallflower meets fight club, but in a good way. He is a mellow guy in the house. You would barely know he is there until he taps you with his paw for a few pets. He runs full tilt with a ton of bird drive. Wide open spaces is where he shines. A perfect gentleman in the house, but once released, he is bound to come back with an injury. The list continues to grow; testicular torsion, sticks completely through a paw, mean seed, barbed wire lacerations, and fights with porcupines. He is my happy problem child who loves to go, go, go!
I have never met a more food driven pointer. This guy loves to work for treats! Stryker is a typical goofy, big hearted pointer from Hackberry Kennels. He looks gorgeous in the field and doesn't range for miles. As a full time guide dog he is regularly working through his weaknesses and continues to improve. He has a lot to learn, but with his work ethic and spirited manners I know he is going to make me proud.
Tutti Frutti! Oh Rudy! What a goofy dog! Rudy is always wiggling with joy and wants everyone to be his friend. Sometimes he even folds his body in half he is so happy. He amazes me how different he is in the field compared to in the home. Rudy is a clown, always trying to kiss you in the house, but the hunting mode beast that comes out in the field is just impressive. He is a close working dog with a ton of cooperation and has a strong natural retrieve with a soft mouth that every hunter would want. He is a young dog that is just waiting to blossom into a hardcore bird dog.
Rain is much different than her sister, Pinky. Rain is an independent bird finding machine. Her range is solid and she's constantly adapting to her environment. A happy, vocal girl that always has a sparkle in her eye, Rain continues to make us laugh. She tried her paw in the horseback field trial world but didn't have the range to make it to the big leagues. She is a perfect fit for being a full time quail guide dog, while hunting wild birds when we both have the free time .
Pinky is a beautiful, compact, and spirited young female. She is true to the vizsla breed and has earned the nickname 'Velcro', as she follows me around in the camper. She springs above the tall cover to check in while she continues to hunt for birds. Pinky is sweet to anyone she meets, dog or human. She's the perfect dog for her job as a guide dog on quail hunts. She hunts close, but as she matures and grows more confident so should her range. Pinky is from Big Creek Vizslas in Iowa.
Karma, Karma, Karma, Karma, Karma Chameleon! ~ She would always come running to me when I would sing that song! What a spunky, sweet, and adorable upland hunting machine. This little English cocker was an absolute joy of mine. She now lives with her forever family with two young boys who spoil her nonstop with affection and love. She will

She will forever be a part of our pack as she lives her life out in North Dakota.
Chunk has found his forever home in Alaska! I'm so proud of who Chunk turned out to be; a funny, goofy, friendly hunting companion. He now gets to explore the vast land up north in a state I personally have never been to ... yet. Chunk will get to see and hunt birds, that will be on my bucket list for a while. Go get 'em Chunk! Good boy!
The dog that started the passion for dogs. He opened my eyes to what a true companion dog should be, without any resentment to the owner, ever. He was my first personal dog, a rescue shepherd. The dog that started the passion for dogs. He opened my eyes to what a true companion dog should be, without any resentment to the owner, ever. He was my first personal dog, a rescue shepherd. He helped get me through a very dark spot in my life, and walked over 500 miles of the Appalachian Trail with me. He taught himself to be a bird dog while I started my career in the bird dog world. Teaching me any dog can do it.
Digit was.... is my pride and joy. Taken too soon, he taught me so much in his 4 short years. This one still makes my heart tender and my eyes fill with tears. His story and his fight can be found on The Traveling Pack's Blog... Once I write it.
Daisy was an original Double R Pointer and was the top girl in any situation. She put every dog in their place and Daisy made sure she got her own personal space. Daisy was a seeker for human affection and butt scratches were always welcomed. She was kind, no matter the person's age. She was the dog you would always want in the field. At

Daisy was a seeker for human affection and butt scratches were always welcomed. She was kind, no matter the person's age. She was the dog you would always want in the field. At first it would seem that she was a background dog; she was in fact, the left over in her litter. But Daisy shined her brightest when you would least expect it. A beautiful backing dog that would make you think she had the bird pointed first, a nose that found EVERY dead bird even when you've given up, a brain that would pace the body so she could find the birds others had missed or over ran, and the heart to love every moment in every day. Daisy is now free from the pains age brings, and she is pointing birds, digging holes, and chewing sticks till her heart's content.
